The Story of The Armory
The Hardin County Armory is the oldest and most unique Armory in Ohio with construction beginning in 1893. Its architecture represents the Late Victorian, Richardsonian Romanesque Style. The cornerstone was laid and was celebrated with a parade on August 2, 1894. The cornerstone ceremony had an estimated attendance of over 25,000 people, one attendee included Governor William McKinley, soon to be president.
The new Armory was formally dedicated on April 15, 1895 with a grandiose military ball. Some of its interior attributes included a shooting range, plunge and steam baths, hardwood auditorium floor, and a balcony that encircled the auditorium.
The Hardin County Armory also laid host to three US Presidents: William Taft, Theodore Roosevelt and William
McKinley. Any event of worth and recognition was held within these walls, so it’s only right to add yours to this
extensive list.
Today we use the facility as a historical venue to host your monumental moment. We operate as a non-profit because we believe in the preservation of the Hardin County Armory. The proceeds from your event go towards the continued upkeep and preservation of this historical business.

Our Clients Love Us!
Doris and the other staff at The Armory were amazing. The venue is perfect for every wedding need. We were able to use the spot for the rehearsal, the ceremony, and the reception. Very little decorating is necessary because the place is so beautiful!

The venue is beautiful, like an old ballroom. It is easy to decorate and doesn't need too much. You can get it the Thursday before a Saturday event to decorate. Also, there are no certain caterers to work with so it's your choice and you are able to do what you'd like with alcohol as well. They are very flexible and easy to work with for a great price!

We had our daughter's wedding here and I can't tell you how impressed we were with our overall experience. The staff made themselves available all weekend for whatever we needed. We had a large 300 person wedding and used up the extra paper towels. I messaged them to ask where to find more and before I knew it the staff was there restocking the rooms for us. We received so many compliments on using this venue and the beautiful location. The staff go above and beyond to make this day as specialf for you as posisble. They truly treat you like family and not just alike a customer. I would highly recommend using them to create your dream come true wedding.
